EDITORIAL POLICY

​

Indic Legal Law Journal (ILLJ) aims to focus on legal issues currently being debated in India and those being discussed internationally with specific reference to India. For this objective to be fulfilled, ILLJ welcomes submissions of original articles and Research papers. Additionally, ILLJ may also solicit contributions. Please refer to the Submission guidelines section below before submitting an article.

 

Article: A  thorough analysis of current legal issues currently being debated in India or abroad that could have an impact on India. The word limit for articles is between 2,000 to 4500 words, excluding footnotes. 

Research Paper: A research paper is an in-depth analysis of a legal point. The word Limit for a research paper is between 5000-7000 words, excluding footnotes. 

 

MODEL OF PUBLICATION

​

Indic Legal Law Journal is a Bi-Monthly journal with twelve issues in a year. Contributions to the journal are to be in the form of Articles or Research Papers. All the manuscripts are published after thorough processing in the manner prescribed below:

Invitation based: ILLJ would seek to invite contributions from eminent legal luminaries, academicians, practitioners, students and scholars on a prior notified topic or on any legal point as and when required.

 

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

​

1. All articles/book reviews submitted should be in Times New Roman with font size 12, line spacing 1.5'; justified.

2. Footnotes cited in the manuscript should be in Times New Roman with font size 10, line spacing 1'; justified.

3. Citations should be in the form of footnotes as per the Bluebook Citation as available on https://www.legalbluebook.com/.

4. The articles/research paper should be submitted online in an MS Word and PDF format document to indiclegalmaster@gmail.com

 

REVIEW OF ARTICLES/RESEARCH PAPERS

The articles/research papers submitted for publication in Indic Legal Law Journal should be an original work of the author and should not have been published previously or currently is submitted for publication in any electronic or print media. The author will be responsible for the accuracy of the statement of facts, opinions, or views stated in the submitted manuscript. In case of any plagiarism found in the contents of a submitted manuscript, the manuscript will be rejected. The final discretion as to the acceptance of the manuscripts rests with the Board of Editors of Indic Legal Law Journal. The manuscripts are scrutinized by our team of experts, having immense knowledge in the subject areas.

 

REVIEW POLICY

​

At Indic Legal, we follow, Single-blind-peer-review of each article submitted to the Board of Editors for publications by eminent scholars in the field of law on which the article/research paper is focused as part of the selection process for publication in the forthcoming issue. However, the same is subject to the discretion of ILLJ.

COPYRIGHT

​

The manuscripts published by the Indic Legal Law Journal are the Intellectual Property of the Journal. However, for non-commercial purposes, the use of published material is not prohibited and will be available in electronic format. Proper intimation and permission of the Board of Editors are required. The authors' original work can be reused only after giving due credits to them and Indic Legal.

At the time of submission, the authors are required to attach an undertaking document obliging to the principles under our guidelines and observe the same. The undertaking document attached by the authors requires them to declare the transfer of copyrights to our publisher, Indic Legal.

 

 REVIEW GUIDELINES

​

All manuscripts are subject to peer review and are expected to meet the standards. Once the article approved by the editor, submissions will be considered by peer reviewers, whose identities will remain anonymous to the authors; we may consult experts and the academicians before deciding on appropriate actions, including but not limited to recruiting reviewers with specific expertise, assessment by additional editors.

 

PLAGIARISM GUIDELEINES

​

All sources are to be cited at the point of their usage, and reuse of wordings must be avoided but, if required, must be attributed or quoted in work submitted. Manuscripts that are found to have been plagiarized from works of other authors, whether published or unpublished (if claimed), will be rejected. Only original content, i.e., articles that have not been previously published, is considered for submission. 

Manuscripts are not be submitted elsewhere while under consideration and must be withdrawn before being submitted elsewhere. Authors whose articles are found to have been simultaneously submitted elsewhere may incur sanctions. If authors have used their own previously published work, or work that is currently under review, as the basis for a submitted manuscript, they must cite the previous articles and indicate how their submitted manuscript differs from their previous work.

Reusing the author’s own words outside the Methods should be attributed or quoted in work provided. Reuse of the author’s own figures or substantial amounts of wording may require permission from the copyright holder, and the authors are responsible for obtaining this.

Manipulation of citations is not acceptable. If done, it will lead to the rejection of the manuscript.

 

ERROR/ RETRACTION GUIDELINES

​

Published articles may be retracted if found that the manuscripts have been fabricated or manipulated, including the manipulation of images and statistics.

When errors are identified in published articles, the publisher will consider what action is required and may consult the editors. If there are errors that significantly affect the conclusions or there is evidence of misconduct, this may require retraction or an expression of concern following the COPE Retraction Guidelines.

The selected manuscripts cannot be withdrawn the day before publication. In such a case, a formal mail requesting the withdrawal of the manuscript must be sent to indiclegalmaster@gmail.com 15 days prior to the date of publication. However, withdrawal after publication is not possible, and the processing fee is non-refundable.

 

AUTHORSHIP GUIDELINES

​

The ICMJE guidelines are referred for authorship acknowledgment hence list everyone who made a significant contribution, and all listed authors must have made a substantial contribution to the research in the manuscript, approved its claims, and agreed to be an author. Changes in authorship must be declared to the journal and agreed to by all authors. Anyone who contributed to the research or manuscript preparation, but is not an author, should be acknowledged with their permission. Submissions by anyone other than one of the authors will not be considered.

 

Authors must declare all potential interests in a ‘Conflicts of interest’ section explaining why there exists a conflict of interest (ICMJE guidelines). The involvement of anyone other than the authors who 

a) has an interest in the outcome of the work;

b) Is affiliated to an organization with such an interest; or 

c) Was employed or paid by a funder in the commissioning, conception, planning, design, conduct, or analysis of the work, the preparation or editing of the manuscript or the decision to publish must be declared.

Potential conflicts of interest must be declared — whether or not they actually had an influence — to allow informed decisions. If unsure, declare a potential interest or discuss with the editorial office. Submissions with undeclared conflicts that are later revealed may be rejected.
