Phased Reopening Unlock-3, Functioning of High Court and other Subordinate Courts in Tamil Nadu



The Hon’ble Administrative Committee has considered the guidelines issued by the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, for phased reopening unlock-3, dated 29th July, 2020, and the Notification issued by the State Government in this regard whereby, the lock-down position as exists has been extended till 31st  August , 2020, subject to the directive therein. The Committee has also considered the COVID-19 Bulletins regarding the status of spread of Corona Virus throughout the State.

Taking note of the fact that the current situations still persists and keeping in view the present COVID-19 situation, the Hon’ble Administrative Committee is of the view that it will not be appropriate to relax or modify the functioning of either the High Court (both Principal Seat and the Madurai Bench) or the Subordinate Courts in all the Districts in the State of Tamil Nadu and in Union territory of Puducherry that is being adopted currently.

Therefore, it is notified that the High Court (both Principal Seat and the Madurai Bench) as well as the Subordinate Courts in all the Districts in the State of Tamil Nadu and in Union Territory of Puducherry would continue to function with effect from 1st August, 2020 till 31st August, 2020, as functioning up till now, subject to any further decision being taken on similar directives.
